On the programme, Ana María Braga jokingly denied an unusual fake news story that ended up bearing her name.

Ana María Braga, who has been a frequent target of fake news on social media – from fake diseases to alleged ‘miracle drugs’ – decided to deny the latest hoax involving her name in a hilarious way. On the Mais Você program this Wednesday (26), the presenter appeared to hammer a nail into the wall to mock a doctored video circulating online, in which she appears “preaching” a religious speech.

“I’m going to preach here, it’s true. Who says I don’t preach? I don’t preach online, I don’t preach, okay?”, declared Anna Maria as she hammered the nail into the wood. The blonde took the opportunity to warn the public against fraudulent material: “There is a fake picture spread everywhere. It looks like me. It is my picture, it is the voice, and the mouth is moving… If you look quickly, it looks like I am preaching.”

Reporter Joe Masaoka highlighted how the video was able to fool the distracted, and Ana María Braga ended the joke with a quip: “I will preach here, and I will not fool anyone. Here I preach, there I preach.”
