Since the last decade, Renault has been trying to create a larger, more refined SUV for its national portfolio. While still producing cars for DaciaThe automaker tested two different generations of Koleos in Brazil, and showcased the models during the 2016 Auto Expo. Despite this, the project did not come to fruition as expected.

But the new generation is expected to have a different future. With a focus on more advanced products, the French brand will have help jellyits partnership, to introduce the Koleos in the country in 2026. This information was confirmed by Renault CEO during the press presentation at this year’s Auto Expo.

What will Renault Koleos look like?

Confirmed to be the Brazilian manufacturer’s first plug-in hybrid vehicle (HEV), the mid-sized SUV should arrive in the first half of 2026. The SUV will use the CMA platform, shared with Volvo, and should be around 4.77 meters long and have a 2.84-metre wheelbase. Despite its size, the Koleos has the capacity to seat four passengers and a driver.

The mechanics of the Koleos will be new. The 1.5-litre turbocharged hybrid has a combustion engine making 150bhp and 23kgm of torque, paired with two electric motors to generate 245bhp of power and 32kgm of torque. The battery capacity is 1.64 kWh, and the system has four-wheel drive. According to Renault, the estimated range is 1,000 kilometres.

The Koleos will be available in the Esprit Alpine version, which is considered more discreet, with contrast stitching on the seats, premium fabric and Alcantara finishes, two-tone diamond-cut wheels and matte body paint.

Inside, the model highlights two 12.3-inch displays on the digital instrument panel and the multimedia center, which is similar to the Boreal display. In addition, the car is equipped with a third display for the passenger. It is important to note that there is no confirmation whether this feature will be offered in Brazil or not.
