Mercedes Portillo, producer of Intrusos and creator of Los escandalones, has died

Mercedes ‘Meche’ Portillo, historical television producer, member of Intruders (América TV) and close friend of Rodrigo Lucic and Adrian Pallares, died on Thursday, November 27, after going through a critical health situation that prompted her colleagues to request a prayer chain in the last hours.

Rodrigo Lucic confirmed the news via his official Instagram account, where he published a lengthy text that he dedicated to the one who described her as the sister of life. The driver was shocked and expressed the deep bond he had with Michie, with whom he had shared years of work, trust and travel.

“But if you can’t read me, if the air is no longer enough for you, I will carry your name anywhere. I will tell the world everything you taught me, everything you are, everything you gave me,” the journalist began in an emotional farewell. The letter continued with a paragraph that he himself admitted to writing a few days ago, but decided not to publish until now:I hope I never publish this letter, and I hope it won’t be necessary. I have so much to say about you, and no words will be enough, like the air that challenges you again, from which you have emerged successful so many times. But don’t be afraid. If you feel that there is no longer air here, fly into the air wherever it is, and let Buenos Aires be like the one in which you lived until your last breath.

Lucic revealed that this part of the letter was kept secret because he hoped to be able to read the first half to him in person. But after confirming his death, he decided to share it as a tribute: “You are now flying in new, clean, healthy and colorful air. One day I will join you and we will fly together again.”.

The post concluded with a formal farewell and thanks to those who have accompanied Mesh’s struggle: “Mesh (1972 – 2025 – endless). Thank you all for your love, prayers and words. I know that they reached her and accompanied her on a journey without suffering. Mesh’s sister and mother have her cell phone and will later be able to see her Instagram account @mechaline. Fill the account with messages that they will read.”

For his part, Adrian Pallares also dedicated some sincere words to him. “I can’t believe it. Our Meche has just died, and I can’t find an explanation for such an injustice in life. A lifelong fighter, a talented, good, loving person, above all a friend to her friends, a loving daughter, sister, and companion,” she detailed of the family bond they maintained.

In the letter, Pallares recalled the last night they shared together, a few days before his death. “I’m so clumsy in these moments of pain, I just want to always remember them exactly like in the picture. Or like last Saturday night and that lunch with @rodrilussich in which we laughed and reminisced about stories from these last three years of theater touring.“A meal that lasted until after three in the morning, and no one could have thought at that moment, that it would be the last of the three together,” he expressed only with the last photo they took.

Thank you for crossing your way into my life, thank you for always being affectionate with me, thank you for caring for me and taking care of us in everything related to work and life. Thank you for your love to fight, giving everything and not giving up anything. Thank you for this contagious love for all of us who sometimes complain about stupid things. You will always be on my mind and especially in my heart. The journalist concluded: “I love you today and forever, my dear comrade.”
