After the match in which Fluminense beat São Paulo 6-0, on 27/11, in the Brazilian League, at the Maracana Stadium, striker John Kennedy could not hide his relief. After all, by scoring the fourth goal, he ended a drought that lasted ten matches (since 1/10, 2-2 with Sport).

“It’s important to always score a goal. I was a bit upset, as I played good matches in other matches, not much, but without scoring. When I score goals again, my confidence increases. Now it’s time to work harder, produce more goals and help Fluminense, because Zika I went out.

But what John did not expect was this ease for Fluminense, which imposed the biggest defeat in the history of this Clásico.

“We qualified for Sao Paulo below expectations, we didn’t expect it, but we set the pace from the start. Before we scored some goals, and this time, we were happy and efficient.”

JFK: “Now is the time to look for a direct position in the Libertadores”

This was Fluminense’s eighth consecutive win at home. Furthermore, the Libertadores classification was confirmed, but only for the preliminary stage. The goal now is to stay in the top five, which will give you a direct place in the group stage.

“Fluminense is growing, and that makes things easier. We are playing well and today was no different. Now it is time to secure a direct place in the Libertadores.”
