After facing resistance from some Hizb ut-Tahrir senators for individual talks, Minister Jorge Mesías, Lula’s nominee for STF membership, is trying to organize a group meeting with the party’s Senate benches.
According to the article, Messias sought out the leader of the Liberal Party in the House of Representatives, Carlos Porteño, and proposed holding a joint lunch with all senators from the party of former president Jair Bolsonaro.

Resistance to Christ
In recent days, Messias has reached out to Bolsonaro’s senators individually, but has faced resistance from some. One of those who resisted accepting Lula’s candidate for STF membership was Senator Izalce Lucas (PL-DF).
Messias is racing against time to try to garner enough support for his nomination to be approved in the Senate. The minister’s hearing is scheduled to be held in the House of Representatives on December 10.
