Thaís Ferreira and Ana Johanes have been friends for almost 20 years and combined the statement with the music of Gian & Giovani a few years ago.
A joke between best friends went viral on social media this week. Tice Ferreira sent Anna Johannes her wedding invitation with a message written on the back: “I’m getting married, but the great love of my life is you,” a reference to the famous song by country duo Gian and Giovanni.
The case raised major repercussions on the X website (formerly Twitter) – with more than 2.5 million views – because many did not understand the reference, which questioned the nature of the relationship. However, in an interview with landThe “best friends,” as they call themselves, said they didn’t understand why there was so much repercussion, since this kind of display of affection is something that happens daily between them.
“There were some stray comments saying that if the fiancé was over, that I would tell him about it, that this wasn’t just friendship,” Anna said. She ensures that her friend’s fiancé takes all of this in stride and realizes that it is a true friendship.
Friendship is almost 20 years
Anna lives in Boytova (SP), and Althais from Resende (RJ). They met in late 2007 in Orkut, but only met in person last year, at a music festival. Despite the distance, they created a very strong bond that lasted 18 years.
“We became very good friends, we started talking every day, and since then, I don’t think there are many days in my life that I don’t talk to her. We went through a lot of things together, we were teenagers and today we’re in our 30s. We’ve been through a lot of things together,” Thies recalls.
They’ve been through many stages together: finishing high school, having doubts about college, going through relationship breakups and even mourning, as in the case of Anna, who lost her mother. They always supported each other in difficult times.
“We always made it clear and said: ‘You are the love of my whole life’. And that’s it. We’ve always been like that, we met online, but we always communicate in a very silly, crazy way, which has never happened with anyone else. Like, the connection between us, it’s very unique,” Anna explains.
The close friend adds that they have always shared things without fear, without filters, and that the love between them is very strong and brotherly. They claim that they did not have any friction that could have affected their friendship, nor that discord socially attributed to female friendships.
“It’s a very strong friendship, she knows more about my life than I do, it’s so incredible. I don’t think there’s a love in the world that I feel as much as I feel for her, because it’s so different from all the relationships I’ve ever had,” the bride explains.
Wedding invitation
The idea came from a combination of the two. “At some point in our friendship, we agreed that when we got married, we would write this song in the scribbled corner of the back,” explains Tyce.
In fact, she chose to send the printed invitation to those who live far away, thinking specifically of her friend. Anna wanted to live this moment. The friend said she wasn’t surprised, because she had already expected it, and even joked that if not, she would walk into the wedding singing: “Please stop now, Mr. Judge,” in reference to the song Wanderlea.
The surprise of the two was that a simple picture, declaring their love for each other, had a great resonance. “There is nothing more important and beautiful than having a friendship like this that you can carry with you for life,” Anna concluded.
