Tonight at 9:30pm in the Sports Center of the UNO Stadium, Estudiantes and Atenas face each other in the first match of the Platense Basketball Association Clausura Championship Final. It must be remembered that the new champion is determined by best of three matches. For his part, Pincha has an athletic advantage, having finished first in the table in the regular stage.

Once again, Lyon and the Greek go head to head to determine the second annual champion of the highest category, in a confrontation that bodes well, not only because of the great sporting present they are experiencing, but because of the history that both clubs carry.

In this sense, last year they met twice in the final. The first was to define the Apertura tournament, where Pincha beat Rojo with a score of 76 to 47. While the second time, was for the A1 Superfinal, they faced each other to be the champions from La Plata – Atenas won the final tournament against Unión Vecinal-. That night, 13th Street got their revenge, winning 93 to 89, in an emotional game.

In this way, almost a year later, the championship crosses them again in a new definition, where the champion will secure a place in the Super Cup that must be played in December against the Reconquista, champion of the Apertura.

In the first match tonight, Estudiantes reaches this decisive stage after being eliminated from Universal in the semi-finals, where it was able to overcome them without problems with scores of 85 to 57 and 77 to 68.

For their part, Lucas Conte’s team presented a wonderful first stage, occupying first place, after adding 26 points, with 12 and only two defeats.

At the same time, it was a year full of commitments, between the local and pre-federal championships, so they will seek to conclude the year with a coronation.

On the other side is Atenas, who also had a tight schedule with the double competition, but managed to reach the new APB final.

The Greek joins this example after reaching third place in the table with 22 points, after achieving 8 victories and 6 losses.

In turn, already in the Final Four zone, they faced Unión Vecinal in the semifinals, which was decided in the third match. In this sense, the Yellows won the first match with a score of 77 to 66 at home. In Dante Demo, El Rojo took revenge and won 74 to 68, setting up a tiebreaker at the Union Stadium, where the Greek won the ticket to the final by 70 to 63.

In this way from 9:30 p.m. At UNO, Estudiantes and Atenas begin introducing the new basketball champion La Plata.
