Flamengo trains with Leo Ortiz and without Pedro ahead of the Libertadores final. There is doubt about the attack formation

Flamengo had its final training session today before the Libertadores final, against Palmeiras, on Saturday, 6pm (Brasilia time), in Lima (Peru). The good news was the presence of defender Leo Ortiz, who trained with the group and is scheduled to start the match at Monumental Stadium. On the other hand, striker Pedro did not take to the field and was practically excluded.

The match was played at the Vidina Training Center, normally used by the Peru national team, and the first 15 minutes were open to the press. It was possible to follow the warm-up and the “silly” circuit.

The team was practically complete, including striker Gonzalo Plata, suspended for tomorrow’s match.

After being sidelined since the end of October due to a right ankle strain, Ortiz trained without restrictions. He was ready to be on the pitch in the final, and has a great chance to form a defensive pairing alongside Leo Pereira.

Pedro also traveled to Lima, but did not even appear at Fedena’s camp. Number 9 will not be able to play tomorrow, due to an injury to his left thigh.

Without Pedro, the big question for Filipe Luis is how the attack will be shaped. Bruno Henrique, Luiz Araujo and Everton Cipoliña are the main options. A formation featuring Arrascaeta, Carrascal and just two strikers is also likely.

Later this afternoon, Filipe Luis and Leo Pereira will hold a press conference at the Monumental. The team will not be scouting the turf.
