The main favorites from Bahia will make their debut on Tuesday, November 11, in the 40th edition of the Bahia Junior Cup, one of the most traditional events in Brazil with World Youth Ranking points. The event is sponsored by Banco BRB through the Brazilian Tennis Federation.
Natalia Torreño, from Bahia and the main favorite in the women’s category, will make her debut against Brazilian Lais Shibata in the second match on the Central Court no later than 9:30 a.m. Torino is competing in the Billie Jean King Youth Cup, the women’s version of the world championship in the under-16 category.
Soon after, it was the turn of Victor Rocha, the current runner-up and second favorite in the men’s category. Bahian goes in search of the trophy and makes his debut against Matthews Pisani.
Next, the young Davis Cup athlete, Leonardo Stork, from Cuiabá, will face Brazilian Enrico Figueiredo. He is the leading candidate in the men’s category.
This Monday, Felipe Badaro of Bahia was beaten by Fernando Cafouri with a brace of 6/4. Matthews Nogueira defeated Matthews Krebs 6/3 6/1 and faces Ryan Schar. Brazilian Giovanna Freire defeated Czech Veronica Kotova 6/0, 6/2 and faces Brazilian Lara Shinzato. Other Brazilians came forward, such as Alicia Ricci, the fourth candidate, and Larissa Silenci. Reichel beat Mariana Ramos 6/1 6/2 while Silence made it 6/1 6/0 over Lara Moreira.
The 40th edition of the Bahia Junior Cup, which has had a partnership for the past 14 years with SUDESB and SETRE – the Secretariat of Labour, Employment, Income and Sports of the Bahia State Government, is sponsored by Banco BRB. The event is sanctioned by the International Tennis Federation, the South American Tennis Confederation, the Brazilian Tennis Confederation and the Bahian Tennis Federation.
