Lula invites the national television network to talk about international relations – 11/28/2025 – Monica Bergamo

President Lula has recorded a speech that will be broadcast on Sunday (30) on national radio and television to announce the penalty of the bill that exempts people who earn up to R$5,000 from paying income tax (IR).

The program airs at 8:30 p.m

Amid the crisis with Congress, the Labor Party member stated that the measure proposed and approved by Parliament is the greatest achievement of his third term.

The president recorded the speech at his desk, in the Palacio do Planalto, with a world map in the background, as a way to also highlight his global leadership.

The government considers the IR exemption to be the most popular slogan to promote Lula’s candidacy for re-election in 2026.

The President made this statement amid a moment of crisis between his government and the leadership of the National Congress.

This week, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hugo Motta, and the President of the Senate, Davi Alcolombre, did not attend the approval of the project to express their dissatisfaction with the government.

The reasons are multiple, but the most obvious, in the case of the Senate, was the appointment of Jorge Messias to the Federal Supreme Court.

Alcombre wanted Lula to nominate Senator Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), and due to his dissatisfaction, he put to the vote bomb agendas that would increase expenses and try to prevent the approval of Mesías.
