Brazil plays poorly and loses to Norway, breaking the team’s eight-game unbeaten run

Brazil lost to Norway 3-1 last Friday in Cádiz, Spain, and as a reward lost its eight-match unbeaten streak. Next Tuesday, the Brazilian women’s national team will play its last match of the year against Portugal in Aveiro.

Without Duda Sampaio and Yasmin, Arthur Elias’s team played an irregular match, without being able to score. In the first half, the Norwegians controlled the match from the beginning. In the 10th minute, Hansen found Jaobsit free in the penalty area, and he fired in a cross to open the scoring.

Brazil chose long balls to no avail. However, they found an equalizer in the final minutes of the first stage. At 43, Angelina took a corner kick and Marisa headed it hard.

In the second half, Arthur Elias made many changes, but the result remained the same: an uncreative team with many mistakes, which allowed Norway to enter the area easily.

Due to a ball error, Norway returned to the lead after seven minutes. Hegerberg recovered the ball and passed it to Gaubset, who scored the first goal to make the score 2-1. Shortly afterwards, Yaya fouled Stolin in the area. Ada Hegerberg hit well and extended it to 3-1.

This year, the team lost only twice: to the United States 2-0 in April, and to France 3-2 in June. In August, Brazil won the Copa America again, unbeaten, with four wins and two draws.

In FIFA’s October history, Brazil has played two more friendly matches. The team beat England, the two-time European champion and current world runner-up, 2-1, and Italy in Parma, 1-0.

Under the leadership of Arthur Elias, the team played 39 matches, achieving 25 wins, five draws and nine defeats.
