
The Spanish League, which is responsible for managing the Spanish Championship, exceeded 6 billion euros with the sale of local broadcast rights for the competition in the next five-year cycle (from 2027-28 to 2031-2032). The new agreement was announced on Friday and was won by Spanish telecommunications company Telefónica and British streaming platform DAZN.

In total, the rights were sold for €6.135 billion (R$37.9 billion). The value represents a 9% increase compared to the previous cycle, which was also sold with the duo Telefónica/DAZN, and is equivalent to revenues of 1.227 billion euros (7.6 billion R$) per season.
The main asset of this package is the local broadcast of the Spanish Championship, which was sold for €5.25 billion (R$32.5 billion). It is also the first time that the agreement exceeds one billion euros per season. Under the agreement, Telefónica and DAZN will each have the right to broadcast five matches in each round over five seasons.
The total value also includes the HORECA sector (hotels, restaurants and cafés), which rose to €650 million (R$4 billion); The rights to the second division of the Spanish championship, which are now worth €175 million (R$1.08 billion); Live broadcasts and videos were sold for 60 million euros (371.4 million Brazilian reals).
