Trump promises to cancel Biden’s orders signed with the automatic pen

United States President, Donald Trump, announced on Friday (11/28) that he intends to rescind all executive orders and other laws signed by his predecessor, Joe Biden, using an “automatic pen” that copies signatures. The statement came in a post on the Truth Social platform, where Trump claimed that using the equipment would make the decisions “null and void.”

“What Joe Biden signed with the pen — about 92% of the documents — is invalid,” the Republican wrote. According to him, his aides used the device without the knowledge of the then president, which constitutes an illegal act.

He added: “I hereby cancel all executive orders and any other document not directly signed by corrupt Joe Biden.”

“Autopen” has been used for decades in the US government

The automatic pen has been used by North American presidents for decades. Initially created to reproduce signatures on high-volume documents, such as federal checks, the system is considered a legitimate mechanism and widely accepted by US departments.

However, Trump claims that part of Biden’s presidential pardon would be invalid, because it would have been decided and signed by his aides. His government opened an investigation to analyze the legality of these measures.

Attorney General Pam Bondi and White House Counsel David Warrington were in charge of the investigation.

The Republican also asserts that Biden will not be cognitively able to govern in the final months of his term, a claim that contradicts the official medical report that certified the Democrat’s fitness. He describes the use of automatic printing presses as a “cover-up” and “one of the biggest scandals in the country’s history.”
