Scream and Scooby Doo star Matthew Lillard only agreed to do Five Nights at Freddy’s because his character “is the Voldemort of horror.”

The first Five Night’s at Freddys film surprised audiences in 2023 and now returns with a direct sequel also starring Josh Hutcherson. The film opens in Brazilian cinemas on December 4.

Five Nights at Freddy’s has a strong fan base for the cinematic game, and they are equally loyal and demanding of an adaptation of the original material. For fans, it is necessary to respect some aspects and take them seriously, as is the case with William Afton, the great villain of the series.

“We want more jump scares. We want to sit in the audience and not only absorb the story of the game world, but overcome with emotions as well. We want to feel the movie the same way we feel the game. I think they did a great job in that regard. I think the fans are going to go crazy. I think the movie is really great,” Lillard told People magazine.
