
The Stock Car stage in Brasilia started with a crash during free practice on Friday (28/11). Bruno Baptista and Paulo Oliveira had an accident on the curve just before the pit. After the accident, Vikar updated the health status of the pilots and reported that the professionals were fine.

“They are in good condition, their condition has stabilized and they will now undergo a period of observation until they are released,” said Dr. Dino Altaman, responsible for the health of professionals. The two pilots underwent examinations that took place in the late afternoon.

The accident involving the pilots occurred around 12:35 p.m. at the Autodromo de Brasilia. Bruno Baptista’s car was hit on the side between the rear wheel and the passenger door. According to the data collected, Paulo Oliveira was traveling at a speed of 133 km/h.
They were treated by the category’s rescue team and transferred to DF Star Hospital, in Asa Sol, in the center of the federal capital.

“After the first bulletin that reported on the care and examinations of drivers Bruno Baptista and João Paulo Oliveira, Vicar, organizer of the Stock Car Pro Series, updates information on the health status of the athletes.
Baptista and Oliveira were involved in the Curva Zero accident, which preceded the Reta dos Boxes accident, at the Autódromo de Brasília. They were immediately treated by the category rescue team, and after stabilization procedures, they were transferred to the DF Star Hospital, Rede D’Or, in the federal capital.
After completing the tests, which were carried out in the late afternoon, Dr. Dino Altmann, chief medical officer at Stock Car, reported that the drivers “are in good condition, their condition is stable and they will now undergo a period of observation until they are released.” Altmann, who previously headed the FIA’s medical department, was at the hospital with Dr. Leandro Schimmelpfing, part of the Stock Car team, to monitor the drivers’ care.
The accident occurred at around 12:35 p.m., during the first free practice of the 11th stage of the season, in which the Federal Capital Road will be reopened on Saturday and Sunday (14 and 11/15). After turning into Curva Zero, Baptista’s car collided sideways with Oliveira’s car, which was coming at high speed. The collision occurred between the rear wheel and the passenger door. “Data collected from the cars indicates that Oliveira was traveling at a speed of 133 km/h at the time of the collision.”
