It is known that related projects in Argentina Renewable energiesIt has attracted capital and projects from various sectors for years, such as biofuels, solar energy, wind energy and others. One of these projects includes two giants, each with a prominent position in its sector. On the one hand, the largest Argentine cooperative and on the other hand, one of the largest oil companies in the world.
He added: “A few years ago, we were working with officials of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates and the ambassador of that country, and then the opportunity arose to hold a meeting with ADNOC International Trading Company, one of the most important oil companies in the world. We developed with them a biofuel and renewable energy project, and more precisely bioethanol based on corn cultivation.” Dario Marinuzzi, President of the AFA Cooperative of Argentine Federal Farmers.
Dario Marinozzi, President of the Asian Football Confederation.Marinuzzi himself explained that after several meetings, they traveled to Abu Dhabi to sign the strategic memorandum of understanding and analyze the biofuel investment project. “For us, this is very important because it is a very strong international company, and it is the same fund that comes to invest in Vaca Muerta.”
The visit to the capital, Abu Dhabi, came within the framework of an exhibition they organized there on oil and its derivatives with the participation of more than 800 exhibitors. In this context, and in accordance with the protocol, representatives of the cooperative and representatives of the company signed the memorandum.
“For AFA, this is a path that can lead to the generation of more added value and biofuels jointly with a company that makes investments all over the world and which we consider very important for our country and for our partners who will be the direct beneficiaries.”
AFA is the largest first-class cooperative in Argentina and one of the largest in South America with a presence in over 130 locations in 10 provinces with over 30,000 participating producers. “We always try to create added value from the source, especially when we implement each project, which is in small and large cities where employment is generated and the circular and regional economy is very important for the interior,” Marinuzzi said.
Regarding his arrival, he added: “Every year between 300 and 500 new members join, and we are amazed that in the last four to five years, large-scale producers have also signed up, in addition to the fact that the typical member of the cooperative is small and medium-sized. We see that larger producers are also starting to choose the cooperative because they see it as a very strong and secure entity, that keeps its word and can be trusted.”
AFA’s aggregation capacity is approximately 6 million tons per year with a storage capacity of about 3.2 million tons, making AFA the aggregator with the largest storage capacity, generating resources and benefits for associates from different business units.
They also develop co-op training and training procedures for members and have two affinity groups, AFA Women and AFA Youth with 200 participants between the ages of 15 and 30 who are trained and educated not only in co-op issues but also in general issues.
“One of our other activities is that we work with a group of Producers 4.0 with whom we hold the annual conference, which targets young producers. We have already participated in this activity for four sessions, and in this latest edition we have gathered more than 1,000 young people between the ages of 20 and 40 working in agricultural production, whether they are colleagues or family members.”
Referring to the coarse grain campaign, the President stated that the first-grade corn in the core area is almost fully planted, with very good prospects, and that the planting of first-grade soybeans is going full steam under very good conditions, only in some places being slightly delayed by excess water.
“Similarly, we started the wheat harvest with a productivity well above normal, which is surprising for our region. Climatically, the prospects are also promising, so we expect a good harvest as well,” concluded Dario Marinuzzi.
