The Cefet shooter was fired because he would not accept being led by a woman

The Metropolitan Homicide Police Station (DHC) of the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro (PCERJ) is investigating the attack that occurred on Friday afternoon (28/11) at the Celso Soco da Fonseca Federal Center for Technological Education (Cefet), Maracana Unit, North District of Rio.

The main suspect, João Antonio Miranda Tello Ramos, had previously been dismissed from work after refusing to accept management undertaken by women, a fact that would, according to the first investigations, be the origin of the conflicts that culminated in the crime.

Pedagogical team director Alain de Souza Pedrotti Matos, 41, was one of the bosses João Antonio did not accept. Because of friction, it was transferred to another unit. Unsatisfied, he tried to reverse the change with the help of the Federal Public Ministry (MPF), but was unsuccessful.

Coexistence problems

Even in his new position, João Antonio once again faced problems living together, which led to his provisional dismissal. However, the psychiatric report concluded that he was able to return to activities, and he was directed back to the Maracana Unit.

On Friday, upon arriving at the education sector, the employee shot 40-year-old psychologist Laise Costa Pinheiro, and then Alan. The two were rescued by the fire department, at 3:50 p.m., and taken to the Souza Aguiar Municipal Hospital, but they did not resist.

Military police officers who arrived at the scene after the attack found the shooter dead on a sofa. The Civil Police continues to collect statements and analyze documents to fully clarify the circumstances and motives of the crime.
