Amid massive protests, the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party founded its new youth organisation, Generation Germany, in Giessen on Saturday (29.11.2025).
At the founding conference, more than 800 participants approved a charter outlining the rules for the role and work of the new group, which, unlike its predecessor, seeks to be closely linked to the AfD.
A number of those injured with minor injuries were treated at the city’s university hospital during the demonstrations against the establishment of the new group.
Police said between 10 and 15 officers also suffered minor injuries.
