The doctor from Palmeiras who died in Lima was honored by students one month ago

Urologist Kawi Brunelli Dezzotti, who died in an accident on Friday (28/11), in Lima, Peru, was honored a month ago by students in São Leopoldo Mandic Ararras, in the interior of São Paulo.

Kai, a Palmeiras fan, was in Lima to watch the Libertadores final, scheduled for Saturday (29/11) between FC Sao Paulo and Flamengo.

“29 days ago, we had the honor of honoring him in his life, on the occasion of his farewell to the league. We never imagined that the words ‘See you soon’ would be his eternal farewell. Today, with gratitude, we realize the value of celebrating him while we still can do so,” read a text published in the Academic Association profile of the college where Kai teaches.

He was a professor at the institution for four years, where he was responsible for the urology specialty and integrated clinic meetings. At the university, the doctor also participated in volunteer projects. Upon leaving college, Kai wrote on a social network: “The course is coming to an end, but I am taking with me colleagues, teachers and students who have been part of this journey. I hope that I have contributed, even a little, to the training of each of my students.”

In addition to his work as a professor, he also worked as a urologist at the Limeira and Campinas Clinics, within São Paulo.

What was the accident that killed Palmeiras in Lima?

According to Enrique Felipe Monroy, head of the Lima Police District, in an interview with a Peruvian radio station, the 38-year-old doctor was hit in the head after the tour bus he was traveling in passed under a bridge.

Enrique Felipe Monroy said: “Today, at about 4 p.m., at the height of the beach between Miraflores and Barranco, there was a ‘Mirabos’, with two levels and at the top there were Palmeiras fans, where this now deceased man was. According to what they say, the fans were jumping on the second level, they did not see that they were going to cross the bridge and they hit the bridge.”

According to fans, the bus that took the Circuito de Playas tour did not pass through the place at a low speed. After the accident, Kai received first aid and was taken to the Maison de Santi clinic, but he died of his injuries.

Palmeiras expressed his regret for what happened on social media, expressing his solidarity with the fan’s family and friends.
