Regarding the accident that occurred on Friday afternoon on the Bajada de los Baños Bridge, in the Barranco district, the Lima and Callao Urban Transport Authority (ATU) reports the following:
ATU deeply regrets what happened and sends its condolences to the family and friends of the person who died while traveling on a tour bus along the Costa Verde.
Regarding the aforementioned vehicle, it has been identified with the license plate F4T-780 and is owned by Solbus Transporte Turístico EIRL, which is authorized to provide tourist services to passengers.Although the bus belongs to an official company, the aforementioned unit is not licensed by the authority to provide tourist transportation services. In this sense, a TU1 violation will be imposed on the company, which is punishable by a fine of 21,400 cents (four UIT – tax reference unit). Furthermore, upon completion of police inspections, the bus will be assembled at the ATU depot. Added to this is the fact that the vehicle is more than 15 years old and therefore the unit is eligible for disassembly (disassembly).
As for the driver, despite having a driving license (brevete), he is not qualified, and for this reason the TU5-b violation will also be applied to the company, which punishes the violator with a fine of S/2,675 (50% of the ITU) and decides that the unit is permanently disqualified from providing the service.ATU reiterates its commitment to protecting passenger safety and enforcing current regulations.
Lima, November 29, 2025According to the ATU, in addition to the bus not having permission, the driver also failed to adhere to local regulations. Although qualified, he did not have the specific qualifications required to drive tourist vehicles. The driver has been fined and the bus, which has license plate F4T-780 and is over 15 years old, will be sent to the depot after inspection.
