The Movimento Brasil Livre (MBL) annual meeting became a festival that debuted in the same month that the liberal activist group became a political party after the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) approved the mission on 4/11.
The first edition of the MBL Festival was held on Saturday (29/11) in old industrial warehouses that have become a 12,000 square meter event space in the eastern district of São Paulo. According to the organizers, the festival of paintings, debates and autograph sessions will be followed by a After the party – Gathering 3,600 people from all over the country.
The best space for the event is the 360 degree platform, surrounded by the audience, who paid R$49.90 to be there. On one side of the stage, the flag of Pernambuco. On the other hand, there is the MBL do Paraná stand, which sells pens, key chains, T-shirts and pieces of abstract art by a member of the Paraná group who claims to be a member of the hippie movement.
The main source of funding for the MBL is precisely the annual meeting, which in addition to gathering thousands of people, sells accessories and souvenirs and attracts new participants. The group’s other big bet is to sell Valete magazine.
Paintings, discussions and ideals
In a relaxed atmosphere with beer and… Food trucksThe main issues of the country were discussed. The first committee included former presidential candidate, Renan Santos, and prior candidates for the government of Rio de Janeiro, firefighter Rafa Luz, and Sergeant Martinez, of the Rio Military Police.
Another participant in the discussion, Colonel João Jacques Busnello, gave two military salutes before taking to the stage. He was a candidate for federal deputy in 2022 for the Rio de Janeiro Public Security Directorate. Lawyer and professor of constitutional law Acaccio Miranda and Renato Batista, national coordinator of the MBL, from the Misão party and alternate state representative in São Paulo, also completed the stage. Batista tried to run a little to get on the stage and got a prank from Renan Santos.
“Ozembe’s show,” the presidential candidate said, referring to the diabetes medication used for weight loss.
A month after the massive operation in and between the Alemao complex that left more than 120 people dead, they discussed public safety. Some of the topics covered were the re-grabbing of lands dominated by bandits and police killers – and it was unfortunate that four police officers died in the massive operation.

In parallel, in Valet Space, a less-star team spoke at the “Questioning Democracy” panel. There they said that everything that has nothing to do with the Labor Party, the judiciary, the growth of the bureaucracy and state power is considered undemocratic in the country.
The Misao Party was created with guidelines written in a “yellow book.” Amanda Viturazzo, a member of the Sao Paulo Council, who belongs to the Brazilian Federation, but is waiting for an agreement or a party window to deport the mission, said that industrialization and combating organized crime through “marketing” and creating performance indicators linked to parliamentary amendments are some of the proposals included in the book.
Amanda said: “The Mission Party came with a proposal. This is the biggest criticism we make of the presidential candidates, they do not have a country project. We wrote a book and now we will apply everything we have studied for many years.”
Who went to the festival
The audience was generally between 20 and 35 years old. Mostly men, but there were a few women. The clothes varied between T-shirts with slogans such as “Arrested, Killed,” team T-shirts, outfits with oriental designs, and T-shirts printed with MBL logos, such as federal MP Kim Katagwiri (União-SP).
For the movement’s spokesman, Arthur de Val, known as “Mamãoe Falei” after the YouTube channel he runs, what attracts militancy to the MBL is “the same purpose.” He says the group’s goal is to create an environment for right-wing debate, but in a relaxed way.
“The majority are young people. There may be some older people, but they are led by young people. We don’t want young people in suits,” Du Val said.
He added: “We are not people who revolve around the popularity of a charismatic person. We are not a group of individual projects. Even in my case in Ukraine, and even in the case of any other controversy that may arise, the movement does not depend on the popularity of a personality.”
He refers to the case of leaked audio recordings in which, in the midst of the war in Ukraine, he said in leaked audio recordings that Ukrainian women are “easy because they are poor.” The case led to Vale losing his term in the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo (ALESP).
This week, MBL had to defend itself against another accusation. Cristiano Beraldo, one of the group’s members, who was nominated for the presidency by the Misao party, is being investigated in the operation investigating a billion-dollar tax evasion scheme by Revit.
Check out an interview with Rep. Kim Katagiri, one of the main organizers of the MBL party below:
“We are a real party with energy,” Kim Katagiri says of Misao.
Representative Kim Cataguirre wants to attract voters who do not want Lula or Bolsonaro
The MBL gathered more than 3,000 people in Misao’s first official month. What does this represent?
Firstly, it shows the strength of the party, with the number of people, it is our biggest event. It’s a start to show our strength. We have also specified at today’s festival that we will have candidates for the position of Federal MP in the 27 states.
What are the bottlenecks and potential of the Misao Party?
The two main challenges are lack of television time and lack of mandatory participation in discussions. Now, our advantage is that we are a real party with activity. We have people who believe in the cause, and we have people who will work voluntarily, as they have always done in our campaigns. We have qualified employees who don’t care if they leave with money, without money.
First, there is a very large space who do not want to vote for Lula or Bolsonaro. We are a movement that is best positioned in terms of this, because we have history, we have cohesion, and we already occupy this space. And with the party we will occupy more and more.
Does the operation, which included the refinery and renovation include MBL member Cristiano Beraldo, punish the movement at the moment it moves to a new phase, with its own legend?
No, because, firstly, the first position of the movement was for Cristiano Beraldo himself to ask for his dismissal, and secondly, as far as we know, he provided consultations for a company that is being investigated for tax evasion, but there are no consequences for him. He is indeed far from the movement and will prove his innocence outside the movement. I do not think this harms the image of the movement or the party in any way.
