Filipe Luis never gets tired of collecting historical achievements. By leading Flamengo to victory over Palmeiras, he became the ninth coach to win the Libertadores title as a player and coach. Moreover, he is the second Brazilian to achieve this feat.
He equaled the achievement of another Brazilian, Renato Gaucho, who won for Gremio in 1983, playing as a striker and, in 2017, becoming captain. They both achieved this feat for the same club.
In just over a year at the helm, he won his fourth team title. In addition to the continental achievement, the coach has already won the Brazilian Cup, Super Cup and Carioca Championship titles.
The former left-back arrived in 2019 and was part of the team led by Jorge Jesus, who began the second golden generation. Felipe participated in all the achievements until his retirement at the end of the 2023 season.
He trained “at home”, and began his coaching job the following year, gaining experience in the U-17 and U-20 teams, until he got the opportunity to go professional at the end of the same year.
