Palmeiras becomes Brazilian after losing more Libertadores finals

With second place, after losing to Flamengo 1 x 0 on Saturday evening (11/29), at the Monumental “U” Stadium in Lima, Peru, Palmeiras reached a negative score. Alviverde became the Brazilian who has lost the most in the Libertadores finals.

This is the fourth decision in the tournament in which Verdão has lost. The first was in 1961, when they lost to Peñarol from Uruguay. In 1968, he finished second after playing for the title against Estudiantes of Argentina.

In 2000, when trying to win a second consecutive Libertadores championship, he was runner-up when they lost to Boca Juniors. After two draws, the match was decided on penalty kicks, and the Argentines won 4 x 2.

Thus, Palmeiras defeated Sao Paulo, which lost three finals of the tournament. Tricolor’s defeats occurred in 1974, 1994 and 2006 to Independiente, Velez Sarsfield and Internacional respectively.
