The Flamengo Festival will have an electric trio in Rio – 11/29/2025 – Sports

The Rio City Council has drawn up a special operational plan for Flamengo’s fan party on Sunday (30), when the team will parade with an electric trio after winning its fourth Libertadores title.

Primeiro de Marco Street and President Antonio Carlos Avenue, in the centre, will be closed in the morning to welcome the American champions, who are expected to attract around 500,000 fans to the 850-metre-long route.

The red and black delegation will land at Galeao Airport at 9:30 a.m. and will head directly to the center. The starting point for the trio will be Primero de Marco, near Buenos Aires Street, and advance to the area adjacent to Araujo Porto Alegre Street.

Along the way, three sound towers will be installed, and the truck will stop on Avenida Almirante Barroso to greet fans.

In the surrounding area, other roads will also be closed to facilitate the movement of fans and vehicles with players. CET-Rio states that lockdowns begin at 5 a.m. and must be launched at 4 p.m.

Primeiro de Março will be blocked between Avenida Presidente Vargas and Rua da Assembleia; President Antonio Carlos will close all lanes between Rua da Assembleia and Avenida Beira Mar. Parking has been banned in the area since 8pm on Saturday (29).

For those who need to cross the center towards the southern or northern area, the recommendation is to use the routes via Lapa – such as Rua Teixeira de Freitas, Avenida Mem de Sa, Rua do Riachuelo – or the Santa Bárbara, Rebucas and Marcelo Alencar tunnels. Nearby roads, such as Mexico Street, Rio Branco Boulevard and Franklin Roosevelt Boulevard, remain open.

CET-Rio advises anyone with scheduled appointments, such as flights at Santos Dumont Airport and trips to Novo Rio bus station, to leave in advance.

Public transportation will also see changes. The directives issued by the Municipal Transport Department are that the public should give preference to the metro. Bus lines that pass through President Antonio Carlos, Primero de Marco or routes such as Santa Luzia and Almirante Barroso will have transfers, and buses that terminate at Menezes Cortes station will have hop on and off changes.

The event will be centrally monitored at COR-Rio, in Cidade Nova, which will have 50 workers on duty in front of the 104 square meter video wall. Teams will monitor images from about a hundred cameras installed in the display area. Two drones will also be used to enhance obstacle monitoring and access.

In urban planning, the Secretariat of Public Order and the Municipal Guard will have 240 agents distributed among 25 checkpoints. Vendors will only be able to enter after being monitored by the Urban Control Coordination, and bottles, carts, food carts and bicycles are prohibited from entering.

According to the city municipality, four medical stations and 250 chemical toilets will also be provided along the route.
