When you pull your hat, scarf, and gloves out of the closet, it’s a sign that it’s time to bring in cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, citrus, kiwi, artichokes, and other winter wonders from the garden. With that in mind, with a little creativity, some basic cooking knowledge and our menu that gives you ideas every week, you can solve all your daily meals. Here we suggest some easier and lighter ones for those moments when you don’t have a lot of time, others that you can ideally put in a container to take to work or university, and some that are more elaborate, when you can stop and enjoy your time in the kitchen.
Monday 1 December
Firstly: Brussels sprouts, orange salad and pickled onions
You don’t have to punish yourself by eating these overcooked vegetables when you can turn them into a fresh, textured, easy-to-prepare dish like this one.
second: Chicken and vegetable cake
Two layers of creamy mashed potatoes and one juicy filling make up this perfect dish to share on cold days. Do this a day in advance and the fun will double.
sweet: Coffee and cardamom flan
The combination of caramel, coffee and cardamom makes this dessert an easy and super delicious choice to end any meal.

Tuesday 2 December
Firstly: Grilled onions with butter and spices
The vegetarian version of the Southern “seafood boil” has recently taken off, and after trying the creamy and flavorful result, we totally understand why.
second: Italian artichoke cake
Delicious pies recur in Italian cuisine: the ones we propose today are based on a simple dough with a flaky pastry effect and filled with artichokes.

sweet: Seasonal fruit: kiwi
Kiwi is in season and is one of the fruits that contains the highest concentration of vitamin C. It is ideal for dealing with colds.
Wednesday 3 December
Firstly: Cream Cabbage Rembard
With almost caramelized onions and a few other ingredients, we boost these vegetables into a cream where you can (and should) overcook them.

second: Lentil salad with beets and halloumi
A useful recipe that only involves chopping the ingredients, mixing them, and grilling the distinctive Cypriot cheese.
sweet: Neapolitan pastries
Southern Italy’s pastries deserve to be famous, and their big stars include ricotta cheese and wheat pastera. This is the recipe from La Pasticceria de Gràcia in Barcelona.
Thursday 4 December
Firstly: Jumping laughter
Toast the risotto in a pan with a little butter until it’s golden, crispy and to die for.

second: Sicilian swordfish
The combination of this ubiquitous fish on Sicilian menus, with the sweet and sour flavor of tomatoes and pickles, transports you straight to this Italian island.
sweet: Seasonal fruit: orange
We’re sorry to tell you that oranges don’t cure colds, but they are still very delicious.
Friday 5 December
Firstly: Leek and shirla soup
A delicious and easy-to-prepare soup where the broth comes to the fore thanks to the garlic and fried shallots. The chirlas were opened at the last minute giving them a final touch of flavour.
second: Frico Friulian
This cousin of the potato and raclette omelette is typical of northeastern Italy. Although it may seem strange given its strength, it is usually accompanied by polenta.

sweet: Homemade apple candy
The apple version of the classic quince dessert is little known outside the regions that produce this fruit, which thickens thanks to pectin and can be enjoyed with nuts or cheese.
Saturday 6 December
main course: Cod with orange and olive sauce
Cod is such an invention of nature that even the most stupid cooks can prepare it well, as long as it is not overcooked. When combined with a fresh vinaigrette, it’s simply unbeatable.

sweet: Seasonal fruit: grapefruit
Poor grapefruit, which since the 1980s has been relegated to the diet breakfast category due to its bitterness and lightness. Have you tried it grilled?
Sunday 7 December
main course: Jacket potatoes
If you cook potatoes with the skin acting as the casing, they become golden and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. You can eat it this way or add your favorite ingredients.
sweet: custard
Who wants artificial custard from the supermarket and can cook the finished, homemade version with a very simple recipe? The answer is clear: no one.
