Lucas Paqueta was sent off in the 37th minute of the second half. First, after a foul, he complained to the referee and received a yellow card. He continued to argue with the match referee, and even uttered some obscene words. The referee showed the second yellow card and sent the Brazilian player off.

With this result, Liverpool ranks eighth with 21 points. West Ham continues its struggle against relegation. Far from sticking, the team sits in 17th place with 11.
