Taynara Souza Santos, 30, remains hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), on Sunday afternoon (11/30). A man identified as her ex-boyfriend ran over the woman and dragged her with his car in Marginal Tete, north of São Paulo, on Saturday (29/11). According to the victim’s family’s lawyers, Fabio Costa and Wilson Zaska, she is not in danger of death.

Furthermore, Leticia stated that her friend had brain swelling, but the CT scan showed no seriousness in the edema.

It is not yet known which hospital Tainara will be transferred to. “We’re going to have to do a skin graft on her, because while she was being dragged across the asphalt, she was left without any skin, so we’re going to have to do that skin graft,” the friend said.

The civil police are investigating the case as an attempted femicide because, according to the Public Security Secretariat, “the investigation so far indicates that he (the suspect) intended to run over the victim and kill her.”

Also according to the ministry, investigations with witnesses and analysis of photographs led to the identification of the suspect, Douglas Alves da Silva, 26 years old, who remains at large. Efforts are currently underway to locate him.

The incident was recorded at Police District No. 73 (Gasana), South Sudan Police informed.

Who is the victim?

Described by family and friends as a cheerful, smiling woman with a “good person,” she is a mother of two children, a 12-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl, who lives alone.

Taynara was working in production for an e-commerce agency. “She was doing her little things, and was planning several things, but unfortunately this tragedy happened. She is a very good girl, but what happened to her will stay with her for the rest of her life,” the friend lamented.
