Vitoria gained great momentum in its fight against relegation by defeating Mirasol 2-0, on Saturday (30), at Paradão Stadium, in the 36th round of the Brazilian League. Defender Lucas Halter opened the scoring, and Matteusinho closed the scoring with a penalty kick.

After the match, coach Jair Ventura celebrated the result, emphasizing the team’s dedication and appreciating the energy and support from the stands.

“Another scoreless game, one goal conceded in five games. Everyone cheers together. When there is this synergy between the fans, the players and the management, things happen. Congratulations to the fans who filled up the tickets. Please pay the fans back by staying.” He said.

Gayer also commented on the table scenario and the importance of the results to keep Vitoria relying only on themselves.

“If we don’t win today, we won’t rely only on ourselves. We’re not focusing on what’s happening there, but on what we can do. We’ll stay out of the tournament.”

Focus on the next opponent

Regarding the sequence in the Brazilian League, the coach has already planned the next decisive match. There are only two rounds left until the end of the competition.

“It will be another quarry. Within these quarries we are trying to achieve sustainability“, he pointed out.

They will then conclude the competition by facing Sao Paulo in Paradão, on Sunday, at 4pm (Brasilia time).
