A man died on Sunday at the Parque Arruda Camara Zoo, in the Brazilian town of João Pessoa, in the state of Paraiba, after he was attacked by a lion after he climbed a six-metre-high wall, using a tree, and infiltrated the animal’s enclosure, the zoo itself confirmed in a statement.
“This is a very sad episode for everyone and we express our solidarity and thoughts with the family of the man who has not yet been identified,” said a statement from the zoo known as Pika, which reported its facilities were closed until the investigation into the event was completed.
