Police arrest suspects in the murder of a hairdresser – 01/12/2025 – Daily Life

The Civil Police of São Paulo arrested on Sunday (30) two men suspected of involvement in the death of hairdresser José Roberto Silveira, alias Beto, 59, who was found bound and showing signs of violence at home, in Alto de Pinheiros, in the Western Region.

The two suspects were arrested in Tavares, Paraíba. According to the Public Security Secretariat, they will be transferred to Sao Paulo.

The court has already ordered the temporary detention of the men who were on the run. Their images were recorded by surveillance cameras as they left the victim’s house.

The hairdresser was found dead on the 22nd in the house where he lived with his mother. Street surveillance cameras show when he drove out of his garage at 1:39 a.m. He returned at 2:13 AM.

The same cameras recorded when two men left Silveira’s home on foot, at 5:53 a.m.

The body was not found until the afternoon, after his 98-year-old mother called her niece. The elderly woman, who suffers from limited mobility, was surprised that Silvera did not attend to care for her and did not answer her calls.

According to the Public Security Secretariat, the hairdresser was naked, his wrists and knees were bound with wire, and his socks were in his mouth and there were signs of suffocation. There were blood marks on the mattress, pillows and wall. A knife was found in the bathroom, and there were no traces of blood on it.
