Katsav says he will run for the Socialist Party government in 2026 if he gets support from Tarcisio | policy

“If he is a presidential candidate, we will determine here in São Paulo what the path is. If I am a candidate for governor, I will ally with him, supporting Tarcicio for president,” the minister said in an interview with Jovem Pan de Marilia radio this morning.

In March, in an interview with CNN Brasil, Katsav had already admitted the possibility of running for government, conditioning the decision on Tarcisio’s approval. His name gained strength again after his conviction and imprisonment Jair Bolsonaro (PL) for attempted coup. The former president has not yet announced who he intends to support in 2026.

Other politicians have also expressed interest in running for the leadership of Palacio dos Bandeirantes, including the lieutenant governor. Felicio Ramuthalso affiliated with the Public Security Directorate and who will take office in place of Tarcisio in April if the governor decides to run for president. Other names that are taken into consideration include the name of the President of the Legislative Assembly, Andre de Prado (pl).
