The Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, announced that the Council of Ministers will approve on Tuesday a royal decree to “facilitate and increase flexibility” of investments by local entities and city councils, a measure agreed with Junts.
He stated this in an interview in … Rac1′ and subsequently developed the strategy at TVE. As reported, he does not downplay the “importance” of the political crisis between his government and the party led by Carles Puigdemont. For this reason, he asks the people of Catalonia to know that the investment agreements implemented in Brussels with Juntes “represent a roadmap, a historic opportunity to resolve a long-standing political conflict.”
As confirmed, the royal decree to be approved on Tuesday will allow mayors to have more capacity, flexibility and ease to invest in projects that do not involve ongoing expenses such as “housing construction, water management, etc., which will be beneficial for the municipalities of Catalonia, but also for the municipalities of the country as a whole.” In addition, the government will agree to facilitate compliance with corporate tax obligations, and extend the deadline for strengthening and promoting the digitization of billing processes, another of Junst’s requests.
“I accept the non-compliance and delay that Gantz criticized,” the president admitted, although he noted that one of the interviews was conducted “on TVE in the Catalan language,” which is one of Gontz’s demands, as well as speaking in Catalan in Parliament, another measure agreed with Puigdemont’s party. He announced that “investigative committees such as the Catalonia Process Committee have been launched,” adding that “they have not complied with everything, but it is true that progress has been made.”
Filming with Puigdemont, closer than ever
Puigdemont’s return to Spain had reached its “final stage”. The executive leader stressed that they hope that the junta leader will be able to “return soon” to finally carry out “full normalization” with the Catalan people. He admitted that the photo with the independent had not been taken before in Brussels because “the issue did not have the opportunity,” although it would have been “cohesive” for the “recovery of political actors.” Finally, Sanchez announced that he had not “speaked directly” with the former Catalan president because, as in the photo, “it did not happen.”
The amnesty law, which has already received “the endorsement of the Greek Commission, the Constitutional Court and the Advocate General of the European Court of Justice,” will serve to comply with the agreed agreements and thus benefit from “a historic opportunity to resolve a long-standing political dispute.”
