On Tuesday, the Brazilian Football Confederation delegation heads to Washington to follow the draw for the group stage of the World Cup, scheduled to take place on Friday, at two in the afternoon (Brasilia time). Coach Carlo Ancelotti, director of the men’s teams, Rodrigo Caetano, and technical director Cicero de Souza were chosen to represent the entity.
According to the UOL website, the trio has a list of 35 options for potential venues, subsidiary headquarters and training centers that could host the Brazilian national team during the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Mexico and Canada. Among the factors that will be evaluated, the climate of the regions will be the primary weight.
Although the CBF summit is planned, the location of the setup will depend entirely on the draw. Brazil will be seeded again and will meet its group rivals on Friday. However, the full tournament route, including the cities the team will play in, will not be revealed until Saturday.
The ranked players always occupy position 1 in the corresponding group. The United States, Mexico and Canada have already been assigned to Groups A, B and D. Thus, the Brazilian national team can lead groups C, E, F, G, H, I, J, K or L.
Unlike previous editions, the game table will only be released the day after the draw. This means that despite their seeding, Brazil will be able to play their debut in another city, if the second group match is scheduled to be played before the first.
