Detainees accused of sexually assaulting a woman using chemicals in Manilva (Málaga) have been released.

Last October, the Court of First Instance of Estepona (Málaga), Square No. 3, approved the release of four detainees accused of sexually assaulting a woman on September 30 in the town of Manilva after subjecting her to chemicals.

As indicated by the Supreme Court of Justice of Andalusia (TSJA), for two of them, the judge approved measures prohibiting approaching and communicating with the victim, noting that the case is still under investigation in the said court.

Members of the Women and Minors Team (IMOMI) of the Organic Judicial Police Unit of the Civil Guard Command of Malaga arrested two men for this alleged sexual assault after the victim reported that she woke up naked and semi-conscious on a beach in the town of Sabinillas, in the same municipality, and that she had clear signs of having been sexually assaulted.

Given the importance of the event, Iommi agents went to the scene to assist the victim. Upon her arrival, the woman was hidden and in a very nervous and anxious state. After investigators calmed her down, she was transferred to a health center to receive assistance, the Civil Guard said in a memorandum on Tuesday.

After medical treatment, the victim filed a complaint in addition to many efforts and statements previously made by investigators, who confirmed that there was no consent to sexual relations on the part of the victim, who was in a weakened state due to the chemical to which she was exposed.

Agents continued to conduct numerous analyzes of the information collected, which was able to determine the participation of two men in the events, and their identities were identified shortly after.

With all this evidence, and with prior permission from the judicial authority, they searched the two people’s homes, where they found the clothes they were wearing when they committed the criminal act. For this reason, these two individuals were arrested for the crime of sexual assault.

Detectives also arrested two other people on charges of covering up the incident. The four detainees were placed at the disposal of the Court of First Instance in Estepona (Málaga), Square No. 3.
