Workers’ Party members see Lula’s actions as “fragmentary” to approve Messias in the Senate as dangerous

Some members of the Workers’ Party saw Lula’s “fragmentation” performance as dangerous, as they joined Mesías in directly clashing with the senators who would participate in the hearing and vote on the Supreme Court nominee.

One is that the president’s move could anger Alcolombre, if he succeeds in endorsing Messias, by exposing his lack of expression and leaving him vulnerable among his colleagues. It does not hurt to remember that the nomination vote is secret.

If the Senate rejects this nomination, which has not happened since 1894, Lula will have exposed himself “too much” and spent his political capital directly in order to suffer a historic defeat.
