Putin says Russia is ready if Europe wants war: “Now”

Russian President Vladimir Putin insisted on Tuesday (12/2) that he is not seeking war with Europe, and that there are no plans in this direction. However, he said that if Europe wanted to start a conflict, Russia was ready “for now.”

The statement comes moments before a meeting between US President Donald Trump’s envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, and Putin, to discuss the peace process in Ukraine. The meeting will be held in Moscow.

The Russian President said: “I have said it many times: we have no plans to fight Europe, but if Europe wants to fight, we are ready now.”

He added that Europe “is preventing the United States government from achieving peace in Ukraine.”

28 points

  • The original peace project, presented by Trump, contains 28 points, which have been constantly criticized for favoring the Kremlin.
  • Due to criticism, the document was reduced to 20 proposals, aimed at making improvements for Ukraine.
  • US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and envoys Witkoff and Kushner met in Florida last Sunday (11/30) with the new Ukrainian team to discuss the plan.

Putin also stated that Russia is trying to be very cautious, and that if Europe wants to start a war, there will be no negotiations.

The Russian President warned, according to what was reported by the international press, that “Russia is acting surgically in Ukraine. This is not a war, and in the event of an attack from Europe, the matter will be different.”
