the Embraer On Tuesday (2) five memorandums of understanding were signed with Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ), a Polish state defense company, and its subsidiaries WZL-1 and WZL-2, WSK “PZL-Kalisz” and WBCKT, WZL.
Embraer said in a statement that the strategic agreement establishes a framework for “broad-based and long-term” cooperation in the defense and space sectors.
In the coming weeks, Embraer and PGZ will evaluate industrial cooperation opportunities in the aviation sector, including operational support services, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), component manufacturing, supply chain solutions, design and development, production, manufacturing, engineering and testing of aviation products. The scope of cooperation may also extend to “C4ISR” activities – control, command, communications, computer, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.
Embraer has also formalized agreements with WZL-1 and WZL-2, further exploring its engagement with key players in the Polish space ecosystem. The partnership with WZL-1 covers metal and composite parts manufacturing, technology transfer, certification and quality assurance, as well as emerging technologies – areas that contribute to strengthening industrial and technological capabilities. Meanwhile, the memorandum with WZL-2 focuses on exploring cooperation on MRO activities for the KC-390 and other aircraft, as well as paint services.
In addition to the master agreement with PGZ, Embraer has signed memorandums with WSK and WBCKT, which together expand the prospects for industrial cooperation in complementary capacities. The agreement with WSK covers potential cooperation in the production and services of aerospace components, mechanical and heat treatment processes, as well as training programs and consulting services. Through WBCKT, the two companies will evaluate opportunities to jointly develop ground support equipment (GSE) for the KC-390 Millennium multi-role transport aircraft.
Together, the company says, these agreements form a solid infrastructure to expand Embraer’s industrial presence in Poland and enhance long-term technological, economic and defense cooperation.
During the signing of the MoUs, Embraer officially presented the KC-390 Millennium multi-role transport aircraft and highlighted the combat capabilities of the A-29 Super Tucano unmanned aerial systems.
“Since entering operation with the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) in 2019, with the Portuguese Air Force in 2023 and with the Hungarian Air Force in 2024, the C-390 Millennium has proven its capability, reliability and performance. The current fleet in operation has demonstrated a mission capability rate of 93% and mission completion rates in excess of 99%,” the company assesses.
