The reason for this is that Planalto evaluated Alclumbri’s decision to schedule Messias’ hearing next Wednesday (10), in the Constitution and Justice Committee of the House of Representatives (CCJ), as a quick decision. Behind the scenes, government interlocutors believed that the tight deadline was Alcolombre’s way of preventing the AGU from building a majority in favor of his candidacy.

Accordingly, Planalto’s internal assessment was that the PT administration did not need to make this appointment official within a pre-determined period, even though President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva’s selection had already been published in the Official Journal of the Union.
