Jealous, the man tears off and swallows part of his partner’s mouth

The Civil Police of Minas Gerais (PCMG), on Monday (1/12), charged a 53-year-old man with torture and false imprisonment after he was arrested for brutally attacking his partner, a 46-year-old woman, on November 23 this year, in Juiz de Fora, Zona da Mata. He bit off, tore off and swallowed part of the woman’s mouth.

According to the investigations of the Specialized Police Center for Women’s Aid (Dim), the man, out of jealousy, locked the victim in the house and physically assaulted her, causing her to suffer very serious injuries, including permanent disfigurement.

Considering the evidence collected, PCMG charged the suspect with crimes of torture and false imprisonment. “This victim was subjected to severe physical and mental suffering, was threatened, prevented from defending herself and had her freedom restricted,” explains the delegate in charge of the case, Alessandra Azalem, regarding the indictment.

Distortion due to jealousy

Speaking about the case, the delegate highlighted the seriousness of the violence: “This case highlights, in a painful way, how violence can generate profound physical and psychological trauma in a woman’s life.

The delegate pointed out that the mutilation he was subjected to indicates the inhumane behavior of the attacker, who marked the victim’s body as if it was an area under his control. “A woman is not the property of any man. There is no reason, including jealousy, that allows aggression.”

Such cases can be registered in person at one of the police units via numbers 190, 197, 180 and 181, in addition to the virtual police station.
