Mirasol defeated Vasco 2 x 0 on Tuesday (2/12), in São Januario, in the 37th round of the Brazilian Championship. With this result, Leao Caibera secured a direct place in the group stage of the Copa Libertadores.
Sao Paulo coach Rafael Goanaes was touched by the team’s moment. It is worth noting that the coach renewed his relationship with the team for another year.

Mirasol’s classification was confirmed, as the team reached 66 points and secured at least fourth place in the Brazilian League. Thus, the team heads directly to the Libertadores in its first appearance in the Italian League.
So far, Liao has recorded 18 wins, 12 draws and only seven defeats in the 37 matches he has played in the competition. Moreover, the team led by Rafael Goanaes maintained their unbeaten record at home.
São Paulo’s next match will be held on Sunday (12/7), at 4pm, against Flamengo, at Campos Maya Stadium.
