Eduardo after Michel’s friction with PL-CE: “Neither winner nor loser”

Federal Rep. Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) stated that the episode involving former First Lady Michelle Bolsonaro and the Liberal Party (PL) guide in Ceará left “no winners or losers.” This came in a video posted on social media, Tuesday night (12/2), after the internal crisis caused by Michel’s public criticism of a possible alliance with Cerro Gomez (PSDB-CE) in the state.

He watches:

Eduardo said: “There was no winner or loser in this case. Nothing like that at all. There was evidence that things had to be dealt with internally. More cases like this will happen again. I hope they will not be dealt with publicly anymore.”

In the video, Eduardo mentioned that the electoral structure in Ceará was already advanced. He stated that the Liberal Party would support Siro for the state government in exchange for its support for a right-wing name for the Senate, which is considered a priority for 2027. According to the MP, this is a strategy to strengthen the right in a state dominated by the left, where the Liberal Party does not have mayors.

He stressed that Rep. Andre Fernández, state president of the party, would have received the approval of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) before leading the statements.

Eduardo stated: “(Deputy) Andre Fernandez was not doing anything behind his back, quite the opposite. It turns out that the controversy arose because the issue, and perhaps this was the only mistake, was not dealt with internally, but was dealt with in a public way. I admit that I put myself in Andre Fernandez’s place and felt insulted in some way.”

Michel’s public criticism generated a crisis

The feud became public last Sunday (30/11), when Michelle harshly criticized Ciro Gomez at an event in Ceara. She said it would not be possible to join someone who calls Bolsonaro a thief and accuses his family members of corruption.

On Tuesday morning (12/2), the former First Lady also released a series of videos in which Ciro Gomez criticizes former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and his family. The posts sparked a strong reaction within the party – especially in Ceará, where part of the party defended the former governor’s support for running for state government in 2026.

The criticism resonated among the former president’s allies in the House of Representatives and the Senate. Sons Flavio, Carlos and Eduardo Bolsonaro lined up in defense of Andre Fernández and against the position of the former first lady, with whom they publicly broke at the time.

PL retreat

With the wear and tear, the national leadership of the Liberal Party decided to suspend talks with Ceará’s party, the PSDB. In a memorandum signed by PL Mulher, headed by Michel, he informed the party, on Tuesday (12/2), that it would seek an electoral alternative that “respects the values and principles of the conservative right.”

“As a result, the talks that were taking place with the government Social Democratic Party were suspended. The strategy that the Liberal Party will adopt will be determined after the analysis and approval of the national leadership and state presidency of the party on the alternatives and projects that will be presented by Representative Andre Fernandez,” the party said.

Senator Flavio Bolsonaro admitted that there was “noise in internal communications”, but stated that the situation had calmed down after the meeting in Brasilia. Andre Fernandez will continue to lead negotiations in the state.
