The frenzy with which filming for the series began has passed. Harry Potter last summer. HBO Max will once again bring the story of the boy who lived to the screen, but this time it will be in series format. It’s been almost 25 years since Warner immortalized JK Rowling’s saga in its films, but many still view the new project with skepticism.
On the one hand, many fans have internalized the Magic World just as it was presented in the films. Although it doesn’t appear to be a problem they had to worry too much about: photos from the filming show a near-identical resemblance to the films’ production design, including the costumes.

This same fear surrounds the new cast, who are under tremendous pressure to live up to their predecessors: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Alan Rickman or Maggie Smithbetween others. Although it cannot be said that HBO Max skimped on the cast.
There is also a reluctance among many to watch the series due to the involvement of JK Rowlingdue to the way the writer has become controversial in recent years for her opinions about trans people.

Maybe that’s why HBO Max’s director of original content Sarah Aubreyspoke about the series during his participation in a panel at Content London (via Variety), fueling the hype and highlighting the degree of fidelity that fans can expect from the production, which will film tomorrow:
“I can’t help but think it’s a lovely adaptation of the books. I think when people see this they’ll think, ‘These are the books.’ It’s created by a British writer, directed by a British filmmaker and its creators are some of the best this country has to offer.“.
While no one expects Aubrey to speak badly of a production she represents, the degree of trust they have in HBO Max with the Harry Potter series is commendable, with its CEO, Casey Bloysalready hinting at plans for filming season 2 a few days ago.
The series of Harry Potter will continue to film its first season, with the relevant Christmas holidays, until mid-2026, with a view to its premieres on HBO Max in 2027.
