Fortaleza will return to the map of national surfing competition in 2025 as a stage for the final stage of the Banco do Brasil Surfing Circuit, which reaches its eighteenth edition since its launch in 2022. In addition to ending the season and directly influencing the future of the new generation of the sport, as the tournament qualifies surfers for the Challenger Series (which acts as the second division of surfing), the event in Ceara will have an unprecedented attraction: a special heat with celebrities, bringing together prominent names from the Olympic sport, from surfing and skateboarding, as well as musicians and influencers.

The Bateria Tamo Junto BB show is scheduled to take place on Friday, December 12, for 40 minutes, without a competitive nature, bringing together Squad BB members and guests who have become part of the final track of the circuit. Confirmed participants include Bob Burnquist, Risa Leal, Felipe Toledo, Italo Ferreira, Isakias Queiroz, Tina Hinkle, Felipe Gustavo, Ronnie Gomez, Augusto Accio, L7, Daniela Vitoria, Marina Gabriela, Helena Laurino, Felipe Mota and Fernando Araujo.
The selection of Fortaleza reinforces Ceará’s historical importance as a hotbed of talent – particularly in aerial maneuvers and surfing – and marks the state’s comeback at a time of expansion on the circuit. The event will have a local ambassador, surfer Kawa Costa, a major promise in the region and a frequent figure at national competitions.
The stage should bring together more than 150 athletes, confirming that the Northeast is one of the strongest centers of technical and general growth in Brazilian surfing. The event is part of the Tamo Junto BB Festival, which brings sports and culture to several capitals, with activities including beach volleyball, skateboarding, street racing, electronic gaming and music. The festival held its first edition in Natal last year
Since 2022, the circuit has covered nine Brazilian states, passing through some of the country’s main athlete training centers, such as Ubatuba (SP), Saquarema (RJ), Garopapa (SC) and Torres (RS), as well as cities of great cultural importance, such as Salvador and Natal.
The Banco do Brasil surf circuit adopts the WSL PURE protocol at all stages, with waste reduction measures, environmental education and local partnerships for selective collection. All materials are reused – tarpaulins turn into litter boxes, benches and shelters, and cable ties turn into beams and scrapers. WSL Brasil also holds workshops, workshops and clean-up efforts in several cities. All events are environmentally friendly and completely carbon neutral.
