There will be strawberry and regional produce sales, cooking workshops, live music and family activities to spread and promote La Plata cord production.
The Municipality of La Plata will hold its first Strawberry Festival on Saturday, December 6 from 3:00 p.m. Until 8:00 pm at Meridiano V Regional Terminal Blayon (17 and 71) with free admission.
This event, promoted through the Secretariat of Production and Technological Innovation, will seek to disseminate and highlight flower and fruit horticulture production in the La Plata region, strengthen the relationship between producers and the community and promote short marketing circuits.
The day will include the sale of strawberries, seasonal vegetables and prepared regional products. Contains informational materials on research, nutrition, agricultural practices, production trials and technical recommendations; Cooking workshops with special guests; Open Radio live music and activities for the whole family.
In this sense, the initiative will bring together primary producers, value-added projects, academic institutions such as the National University of La Plata, regional organizations such as the Ministry of Agricultural Development and technical teams linked to productive development and innovation.
The proposal is part of a broader agenda to strengthen the sector promoted by the municipality, which includes the recent publication of the Platense Florihortculture Survey 2025, now available on the municipality’s website.
The study updates – after two decades – the size and diversity of the local green belt, revealing that it employs more than 6,200 people and that 87% of them live on the farm itself, reinforcing the model of regional roots and family production.
Additionally, it underscores the strategic importance of crops such as strawberries among the city’s largest foods, and provides essential data for designing public policies and programs that promote inclusive productive development.
