“Since the manufacturer guidance was announced, a team of more than 2,500 dedicated company technicians have worked tirelessly to update the software on 124 aircraft.”

The company added that a total of 42,939 passengers were affected by the problem on board 293 national and international flights. Airbus requested the recall of thousands of aircraft from the A320 family on Friday (28). The recall was necessary after an accident that occurred in October on a US JetBlue plane. The plane ended up making a sudden landing without the pilots’ orders, resulting in some passengers being injured.

Investigations later showed that the Elac system, a computer responsible for helping manage the plane’s stability, had been compromised by solar radiation.

In total, the suspension resulting from the recall affected 6,000 aircraft of the model, which is the best-selling in the world. The manufacturer says it has already completed updates on almost the entire fleet.
