Leeds stunned and recorded an excellent win in the 2025/26 Premier League. On home soil, the team performed brilliantly and defeated Chelsea 3-1, on Wednesday (3), in a match held in the 14th round of the English Championship. Defender Jaka Bigol scored with a header, midfielder Ao Tanaka and striker Calvert-Lewin scored the goals at Elland Road, while Pedro Neto, who replaced Estevao in the first half, scored for the London club.

Thus, Chelsea fell to fourth place with the same score of 24 points at the beginning of the round. The difference over leaders Arsenal reached nine points, and both Manchester City (28) and Aston Villa (27) – the second and third placed players – won their commitments and increased their superiority over the Blues.

On the other hand, Leeds, which performed well even in the defeat against Manchester City in the last round, reached 14 points and rose to 17th place, which is first outside the relegation zone. The win also broke a series of four consecutive stumbles in the Premier League.

The game

Leeds had a great first half and led 2-0 at half-time. Defender Bigol with a header, and midfielder Tanaka with a shot from outside the area, scored the two goals for the home team. Leeds had much less possession than Chelsea, but created more dangerous chances with the ball than their opponents.

Chelsea, in turn, tried to respond in the second half. Enzo Maresca made two changes to the team, one of which saw Estevao leave for Pedro Neto, and the Portuguese striker reduced the score after just four minutes. However, Leeds continued to create chances, and Nmecha even had a goal disallowed for offside. However, on 26, Chelsea’s defense failed to clear the ball, and Calvert-Lewin only pushed it into the back net to confirm the win.
