Court approves new agreement in class action dispute over Gemig health plan | Companies

Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais (Cemig) reported on Wednesday (3) that the Regional Labor Court of the Third Region approved the agreement signed with the unions representing the company’s employees and pensioners, within the scope of the collective dispute over the health plan.

The agreement, together with the previous agreement already approved with other union entities, provides for the payment of a maximum compensatory compensation of R$1.25 billion, which will be distributed proportionally to the beneficiaries in six installments, with the last payment scheduled to take place in 2030. The measure covers 15,496 participants, including pensioners, retirees and active employees registered in the Cemig Saúde PSI health plan in February 2025.

The two signed agreements allow 15,496 participants to transition to the new health plans, with Cemig’s sponsorship of PSI ending on December 31, 2025.

The agreement is of a decisive nature and reaches the representatives or companies affiliated with the signatories. The new agreement was signed with the Municipal Union of Workers in the Energy Industry of Minas Gerais – (Sindieletro), the Union of Engineers of the State of Minas Gerais (Senge), the Union of Industrial Technicians of Minas Gerais (Sintec), the Union of Electrical Workers of Juiz de Fora and the retirees of the Association of Retired and Retired Electrical Workers of Cemig and its affiliates (AEA).
