Flamengo became champions of the Brazilian Championship on Wednesday, after defeating Ceara 1-0, at the Maracana Stadium, in the 37th round. With this title, the red and black team became the current champions of all the competitions they played on the continent.
This happens because Flamengo won the Brazilian League, Libertadores, Carioca Championship and Brazilian Super Cup titles this season. Filipe Luis’ side won the Copa do Brasil last year, but with the 2025 edition only finishing on December 21, the red and black side are currently the current champions of the competition.
Flamengo won the Copa do Brasil in November 2024, beating Atletico 4-1 on aggregate. At the beginning of 2025, the red and black team won the Brazilian Super Cup, which was decided in one match, against Botafogo, after winning 3-1, and Bruno Henrique excelled by scoring two goals.
Months later, Flamengo won the 2025 Carioca Championship title. The team performed strongly throughout the competition, playing 11 matches in the group stage, with 7 victories, 2 draws and 2 defeats, scoring 25 goals and conceding only 5 goals.
In the finals, Flamengo faced Fluminense, and after winning the first match 2-1, it won the title with a goalless draw in the second match. This accomplishment marks the team’s 39th state championship.
Last Saturday, Filipe Luis won the Copa Libertadores. The red and black team beat Palmeiras, in Lima, Peru, 1-0, becoming four-time champions of the competition.
