Flamengo won the Brazilian championship by defeating Ceara 1-0 on Wednesday, and have already changed the logistics for the final round of the tournament, against Mirasol, which is scheduled to be played on Saturday. Only the Red and Black will lead the Under-20s into contention and not even Filipe Luis will be in charge – Bruno Pivetti will be the coach. The starting squad will travel to Doha, Qatar, on the same day as the Brazilian Championship match, seeking more time to prepare for the Intercontinental Club Cup.
The red and black player will play his first match against Mexico’s Cruz Azul on the 10th of this month. Paris Saint-Germain, the current European champion, is awaiting challenger in the final.
For the Derby of the Americas, the match will take place just four days after the final round of the Brazilian championship. Last year, Botafogo exited at this particular stage after losing 3-0 to Pachuca of Mexico as well, which will eliminate Al-Ahly of Egypt, and will be defeated by Real Madrid of Spain in the decision.
If the Mexican team overcomes, the team of coach Filipe Luis will face Egyptian Pyramids, classified as African champions, on the 13th. Whoever qualifies will play in the Intercontinental final against Paris Saint-Germain, the current winner of the Champions League, on the 17th.
