Former BBB Aline Gotschalg recalled the process that led to her diagnosis of thyroid cancer in 2022, and stated that the discovery only happened because she decided to investigate an ongoing feeling that something wasn’t right.
She said in an interview with Quim magazine that there were no physical symptoms or clinical indicators to warrant concern at the time.
The influencer explained that before her diagnosis, she had an intense routine and was not inclined to prioritize her health: “Before everything happened, I saw myself as someone who always pushed my own needs for later. I was strong and assertive, but I lived in automatic mode, trying to take care of everything and everyone, except myself.”
According to her, the constant feeling of fatigue and anxiety was treated as normal. “Today I see that it was not strength, but survival.”

Although the tests were within normal limits and she maintained healthy habits, such as regular exercise and a balanced diet, Allen says something made her seek new tests. “I didn’t feel any signs at all. My tests were great, my routine was healthy… and there was no indication that anything too serious was going on,” he said.
She said that the decision to perform a thyroid ultrasound came without a clinical reason, out of a sense of alertness only. “It was really a surprise,” he said. “What I felt, actually, was something more spiritual than physical. And out of nowhere, I started having an urgent feeling that I needed to have a thyroid ultrasound, even though I had never done that before.”
Allen believes this intuition was crucial to early discovery. He added: “I always say that God was breathing in my ears, because if I had not listened to that intuition, it might have taken much longer to discover it. It was truly divine providence.”
